Shock and Fragility Testing

 

ASTM D3332 is the test method used to evaluate a product’s ability to withstand hazards associated with high intensity impact inputs. DDL’s shock testing services help determine a product or packaging system’s level of fragility by measuring the amount of input acceleration required to damage the product’s function or cosmetics. The product is evaluated by controlling two critical input parameters – acceleration and velocity – to assess its fragility. Shock intensity is incrementally increased until the failure criteria are met.

DDL has the capability to perform shock testing up to 600G’s and as short as a two (2) millisecond pulse for a half-sine shock pulse.
