DDL offers a wide range of material product testing services that draw from best practices testing techniques.

Our material testing engineers possess an extensive equipment background which enables them to:

- measure mechanical properties,
- conduct material characterization analysis,
- aid in materials selection,
- serve as a packaging design authority
- add value to quality initiatives, and
- produce product performance tests.

DDL material testing capabilities include strength testing and characterization of material response to fatigue.

The information that DDL engineers compile from these tests help you to select the optimal material for your specific application.

DDL also provides authoritative testing for hazardous material packaging that must meet domestic and international safety standards.

DDL Material Testing Services Include:
Flexure Tests - The most common, cost effective, and reliable of the tests for brittle material strength is three and four point flexure. These tests are performed on carefully prepared bar-shaped specimens.

Compression Tests - Materials behave differently in compression than they do in tension, so it is important to perform fixture and transducer tests which simulate conditions the material will be exposed to in actual use.

Tensile Strength Tests - Tensile strength tests are considered to be a realistic representation of the stress the material will experience during actual application. Tensile Strength Testing is the most common test currently being conducted in the industry. Tensile Strength Testing is being applied to polymers, elastomers, metals, composites, ceramics and even rock.

Fatigue Tests - Fatigue tests are performed primarily for specimens that are used in structural applications where repetitive loads and strains require confirmation that the chosen material is appropriate for the application.

Performance Tests -Performance tests are often referred to as product or material tests. DDL is well equipped to verify whether designs can meet the type of mechanical durability and performance for which they were designed.

With an extensive background in servo control, DDL engineers can control testing equipment in a way that enable real life simulation of material conditions.

DDL services the nation with two testing facilities, one located on the West Coast and one in the Midwest.
